MIT’s invention to fight the black tide.
MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) discovered a fast and cheap way to split oil from water in case of a black tide.
In the future, through the use of nanoparticles, magnets will be enough.
Catch oil could be re-used.
The nanoparticles – MIT’s concept is to mix the oil with some water-repellent iron-based nanoparticles, that are easly attracted by an ordinary magnet. Nanoparticles will necessarily depart from water and will bind to oil, making him magnetic.
Now, it is not easy to separate oil from water and, most of all, “to keep the oil clean”.
It seems crazy, but in this way, oil may be easly re-usable and , catching it with magnets, it can also be sold covering all transaction costs.
